Job Details:

Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.  With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs.  We are currently seeking a dedicated Access Line Coordinator to join our team at Cape Cod Healthcare.  

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Answers the phone and website email inquiries to the Cape Cod Healthcare Access Line and responds to caller/user needs, including referral to Cape Cod Healthcare physicians, programs and services.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Utilizes knowledge base to assess caller need and refer as appropriate.           

2.      Maintains thorough knowledge of Cape Cod Healthcare providers and services to make appropriate referrals within the Cape Cod Healthcare system.           

3.      Supports Cape Cod Healthcare activities by managing calls, emails and registrations for educational seminars, events and other logistics.           

4.      Monitors and measures caller activity, including updating of caller database.           

5.      Interfaces with physician office staff to maintain accurate information regarding availability, services offered and to troubleshoot problems as they occur.           

6.      Interface with Quality Management Departments in regard to patient complaints and compliments with hospital based practices utilizing existing policy and providing advocacy as needed.           

7.      Maintain system of measuring satisfaction to clients.           

8.      Provide follow up calls and emails to clients where appropriate.

9.      Insure access to hospital and physician services through use of appropriate free care monies.      

10.  Performs other duties as assigned by Director Physician Outreach / Referral.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

·       At least 3-5 years in a medical environment with familiarity of medical terminology.

·       Knowledge of Cape Cod Healthcare services and medical office practices.

·       Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

·       RN/LPN preferred.

·       Excellent telephone and customer service skills.

·       Ability to manage in a multiple task role.
