Job Details:

Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.  With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs.  We are currently seeking a dedicated Central Scheduling Rep to join our team at MACC.


To provide outstanding "Customer Service" to all existing and potential MACC patients when scheduling appointments, and assisting CCHC employees that are requesting a new primary care physician.



1.      Schedules multiple types of appointments with both primary care and specialty physicians throughout the MACC organization.  In the case of a specialist, remind patient about referral requirements.  Work collaboratively utilizing the electronic scheduling system.


2.      Liaison for existing MACC patients, future MACC patients and Employees seeking a new Primary Care Provider. Receive all calls, and completes scheduling requests.


3.      Updates schedules for multiple practices. Maintains live document of new patients and employees referred to each physician.


4.      Mail out new patient package when applicable.


5.      Maintains appropriate department records and filing system to insure efficient retrieval of information.  Photocopy/fax information as needed.


6.      Obtains accurate and proper information when scheduling appointments, including updated demographics and payer information.


7.      Timely communication of unresolved issues to manager or designee to facilitate timely interventions.


8.      Develops knowledge of scheduling dictionaries and the ability to edit, as trained.


9.      Print and reconcile patient reports, as directed by manager or designee.


10.  Perform other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested.

·        Ability to read, write and communicate in English at the level of a high school graduate.

·        Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

·        Experience with on-line scheduling and Microsoft Office

·        Experience with medical information system of at least 1 year, or comparable experience in a medical field.

·        Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.

·        Excellent telephone and communication skills are required.

·        Excellent customer service skills required.
