SUMMARY

Assist in all aspects of the ED and CDU to process patients in a timely manner.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Must be courteous to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Assist with moving the patient through the department; transport, ambulating to the bathroom; to bed, to wheel chair

Starting IV's

EKGS

Lab draws

Assist with crutch fitting and walking

Assist in Triage as needed

Attach patients on monitors

Participate in Traumas per Trauma Protocol

Stock area daily

Bag EMS equipment to Ambulance foyer

Check PPE kits in assigned rooms

Check clothes in foyer and call families

Assist with decontamination as needed

Applies compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles

Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge

Bathes, dresses, and assists patients in walking and turning

Cleans rooms, makes beds, and answers patients' calls

Washes and dresses bodies of deceased persons

Assists in delivery, care, and feeding of infants

Inventories and requisitions supplies

Demonstrates through clinical practice the use of universal precautions, understands the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogens Standards

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and/or practice in the prevention of TB transmission and adheres to all other infection control policies

Must wear facility provided identification badge at all times

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent.

Lab Draw class at CCHC within 6 months of hire

IV class per CCHC procedure within 6 months of hire

Physical Therapy Tech Class after 6 months of hire, within 1 year of hire

Must have ability to read, write, understand English

Must be proficient in line placement.

Must have taken the EKG course.
