Cape Cod Healthcare is the leading provider of healthcare services for residents and visitors of Cape Cod.  With more than 450 physicians, 4,700 employees, and 1,100 volunteers, Cape Cod Healthcare operates two-acute care hospitals, the Cape's leading provider of homecare and hospice services (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility (JML Care Center), an assisted living facility (Heritage at Falmouth), the Cape's only local laboratory service (CCHC Laboratory Services) and numerous health programs.  We are currently seeking a dedicated EEG Technician to join our team at Falmouth Hospital.  

 

SUMMARY

Assists in the operation of the EEG Department and performs standard EEG tests per physician's order.

 

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:           

  1. Practices according to entity mandatory requirements.       
  2. Practices according to department expectations.     
  3. Practices with a Customer Service approach to all activities.
  4. Utilizes internal and external resources appropriately.
  5. Documents according to entity/department guidelines.
  6. Utilizes techniques of time management effectively.            
  7. Sets up, adjusts and operates medical equipment and instruments.             
  8. Performs testing ordered by patient's physician.
  9. Maintains appropriate licenses, certifications, registrations required to perform duties of their designated role/position.              
  10. Addresses age-specific needs of infants, toddlers, school age, adolescents, adults, older adults.
  11. Performs standard EEG tests.
  12. Maintains EEG equipment.    
  13. Generally establishes own work plan and priorities, using and/or modifying standard procedures, to assure timely completion of assigned work in conformance with department policies and practices; problems lacking clear precedent are usually reviewed with the Manager. 
  14. The EEG Technologist II will participate in tutoring, demonstrating, and mentoring to the EEG technologist I as required.
  15. Performs tasks and other duties for department.

FHS8: 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Is proficient in OSHA regulations including performance of universal precautions.

Registry eligible by ABRET.

 

FHS10:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program or an Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Three or more years experience in the performance of EEG procedures in the patient care environment, including pediatrics
  • Credentialed in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.) 
  • Proficient in OSHA regulations including performance of universal precautions. 
  • Must be BLS certified
