Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m // 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Job Details:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Cleans resident living areas, recreation areas; patient rooms, halls, lobbies, restrooms, and stairways in accordance with current state, federal, and local standards, guidelines governing our facility.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs cleaning in conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  2. Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
  3. Knock before entering a patient or resident room.
  4. Sweeps and wash floors; cleans and sanitizes sinks, counters, tubs, showers, and toilets; vacuums upholstered furniture, and draperies; dusts furniture and equipment.
  5. Beds washed weekly and as needed.
  6. Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
  7. Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
  8. Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
  9. Changes linens and makes beds for every discharge and transfer.
  10. Replenishes restroom and restroom room supplies.
  11. Ensure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies to perform daily tasks is maintained in utility/janitorial closets and cleaning carts.
  12. Report burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., to your supervisor as soon as practical; add to maintenance board on unit.
  13. Vacuums carpets in all areas of the facility.
  14. Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
  15. Inspects rooms to see if any repairs are required.
  16. Renders personal assistance to patrons. (i.e. assisting with  Telephone / Remote )
  17. Follow established policies governing the use/disposal of personal protective equipment and disposal of infectious wastes.
  18. May move furniture, change drapes, and privacy curtains as needed or advised.
  19. Must maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information; and adhere to Resident's rights.
  20. Performs other work related / housekeeping and laundry duties as requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, an 8th grade education.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas, must perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
  • Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and meet all other Physical and Sensory requirements of the job.
