Description
Performs as a member of the Nursing Team various duties assisting Staff Nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the nursing process during delivery of patient care
  • Assists in providing nursing care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical psychological and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse
  • Participates in implementing a formal plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems)
  • Assists in orientation of other personnel to the unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse
  • Participates in at least four unit staff meetings per year attends mandatory programs
  • Adheres to safety blood body fluid policies and procedures
  • Assesses personal and learning development needs
  • Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served
  • Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided
  • Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his her immediate supervisor

Qualifications:
 
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent (EMT LPN completion of one year of nursing school program which includes two semesters of clinical practice military corps person)
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Successful passage of the Cape Cod Hospital written competency exam for NA II
  • Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months of hire and must maintain recertification annually

Schedule Details: 16 hours per week, 11p-7a, rotating days, every other weekend and holiday
