Responsible for the transportation and personal needs of patients and general maintenance of the unit



  1. Must be courteous to patients, customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  2. Transports patients via wheelchairs and stretchers.
  3. Identify and locate needed accessories to facilitate transport.
  4. Vital signs, oxygen saturation, weights, and non-invasive specimen collection.
  5. Answering call lights.
  6. Making beds both empty and occupied.
  7. Turning and positioning patients, range of motion, ambulation, and toiletry.
  8. Assistance with all ADL's and complete care as needed.
  9. Setting up, assisting and educating patients,  with commodes, bedpans, urinals, sitz baths, walkers, wheel chairs, slings, knee mobilizes, knee immobilizers, trapeze, venodyne boots, crutches, specific precautions- with input from PT as needed
  10. Appropriate emptying and/or recording of all drainage devices.
  11. Setting up all equipment routinely used on their home base units.
  12. Preparing room for admission.
  13. Assist with patient discharges
  14. Removal of linens.
  15. Light maintenance defined as not needing tools and within the patient rooms.
  16. Post mortem care.
  17. Answering telephone.
  18. Must wear facility provided identification badge.
  19. Facilitate communication to RN's to provide best care possible for patients

  • Current CNA license, or EMT-P, or recent military medic or Nursing Student (1 year of clinical rotation required and maintaining of 3.0 GPA)
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Reads, Speaks, writes in English.
  • Current BLS
