WILDLIFE TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-time Entry level position in nuisance wildlife damage repairs and wildlife entry prevention. Position involves detailed inspection of residential and commercial properties for wildlife damage and potential animal entry points and the subsequent installation of animal exclusion materials and the repair of animal related damage. Job involves light carpentry work (exclusion of animals), and working in confined spaces and at roof top levels as well as on chimneys. This is both a physical and a sales oriented position. Applicant must live within 5 miles of South Yarmouth and own reliable transportation. Applicant must be able to be at work in South Yarmouth promptly at 8:00 am each morning and be able to work until that day's assigned tasks are completed. Work week will include one weekend day.

COMPENSATION: Hourly wage starts at $15.00/Hour while training and will quickly go to $20.00/Hour plus commission once fully licensed. Future increases will be based on experience, qualifications and applicant suitability.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Motivated, physically fit, presentable and well spoken person with ability to use tall ladders, capable of working in tight and/or confined spaces, and able to work at chimney and roof top heights. Familiarity with basic carpentry and the use of common construction tools and materials required. Good communication skills are necessary as this position entails talking with customers on a daily basis. Must be able to lift 75 lbs over head and use 32 foot extension ladders. Background in a wildlife or an environmental related field helpful. Ability to pass random drug screening and a good driving record are essential. Maturity, attention to detail and the ability to work without close supervision are a must. This is a non-smoking position.
